Ladakh road trip

5Nights 6/Days Itinerary

Day 1

Board an early morning flight bound for Leh, the principal town of Ladakh nestled at an elevation of 11,800 feet above sea level. Upon touchdown at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, seamless transfer to your designated hotel is arranged. Settle into your accommodations and dedicate the day to acclimatizing to the thin air characteristic of Ladakh's high altitudes. In the late afternoon, embark on a visit to the exquisite Shanti Stupa, a splendid example of Buddhist architecture. Utilize the evening hours to explore the vibrant local markets. Retire for the night at your hotel for a rejuvenating stay.

Day 2

Following a relaxed breakfast, we'll embark on a drive to Spituk. Our itinerary for the day includes visits to Spituk Monastery, the renowned Magnetic Hills, the meeting point of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers near Nimoo, and a pilgrimage to Pather Sahib, a significant Sikh site. As the evening approaches, we'll return to Leh. If time permits, you can explore the local markets of the city and pick up some souvenirs for your loved ones. Later, we'll head back to the hotel for dinner and retire for the night. Enjoy your overnight stay in Leh

Day 3

On Day 3, we kick off with a full-day excursion to Pangong Lake, situated 135 km away from Leh. This breathtaking lake stretches nearly 140 km in length and spans 3-5 km in width, with a significant portion of it extending into Tibetan territory. We'll return by evening, allowing you time to wander through Leh's local markets, perhaps finding a bargain or two. Rest for the night at the hotel for another comfortable overnight stay.

Day 4

The fourth day commences with a visit to Khardungla Pass, towering at an altitude of 18,360 feet. Unsurprisingly, this pass holds the title of being the world's highest motorable pass.

Day 5

Today is dedicated to immersing ourselves in the rich culture of Leh and its surroundings. Our sightseeing agenda includes a visit to Thiksey Gompa, renowned as one of the most awe-inspiring monasteries in Ladakh. We'll also explore Shey Palace nearby. Following this, we'll head to Hemis, home to one of Ladakh's most famous festivals. After exploring these monastic sites, we'll drive to Stok Palace Museum, where a fascinating display of royal artifacts and paraphernalia awaits.
